"ONE SINGLE TERROIR WITHIN THE SETÚBAL PENINSULA WHERE WINE MAINTAINS THE TRADITION OF THE REGIONS’ VINE VARIETY – VINE VARIETY CASTELÃO..."
One single terroir within the Setúbal Peninsula where wine maintains the tradition of the regions’ vine variety – vine variety Castelão is produced in a rare and very traditional manner, a peculiar case of genuine production of wine in a world of industrial wines.
The manual harvest allows for a rigorous and careful selection of the grapes which enter the wine cellar. Only the grapes in perfect health and ripeness are harvested and sent to the wine cellar.
The traditional wine making process to obtain the Espirra wines is unique in the region, grapes are trodden by foot in the presses with natural fermentation in the Estate’s cellar, where the wine of Espirra Estate is aged in French oak barrels.
